SIMULATION at about 80% +/-
Independent time trial sent to us by our friends up north under who switched to the VIPER restraint. When compared to the current commercial device carried under similar simulated trials, VIPER was over 66% faster. This means better control of agitated behavior , less chance for injury and less strain on your crew, and patient.
Ease of use

· Universal clip design fits around most anchor points of stretchers and stair chairs with wide gate opening.
· Cam design allows for easy adjustment for patient safety and comfort.
· 1/8-inch stainless steel belt tensioner allows for patient freedom of movement if needed without restraint removal and easy retightening.
Durability
· Non-latex Neoprene cuff is comfortable, collapsible, breathable, reusable, anti-microbial, and easy to clean.
· Mil-spec webbing for superior life and strength.
· Machine-washable.
· Injection molded medical-grade plastics and resin for a lightweight yet strong design.
· The unique, patent-pending clip design allows it to anchor to different points of contact.
Reusability is based on frequency of use, types of use i.e., shock loading, static loading, and how often the VIPER restraint is cleaned and cared for. If properly maintained, stored, and cleaned, it is possible to have multiple uses. VIPER Emergency Medical Restraints LLC makes no claims or recommendations as to the life of the device. It is however strongly recommended if there is visible wear and tear, signs of damage or a valid concern for usage to discontinue use and replace in accordance with your departments policies.
Important, please read:
Please review all state and local protocols and guidelines before deploying VIPER.
VIPER makes no recommendations as to the placement of the restraint clip due to the variations of stretcher, and stretcher manufacturers.
VIPER does recommend using only fixed areas that conform with local and department policies, as well as good clinical judgment.
Restraint should be placed in the least restrictive manner possible, and in accordance with state and local guidelines.
Never attach VIPER to movable power frame.
VIPER strongly discourages using areas on stretchers where two points form a junction and pinch point. This can, and will, cause the restraint clip to become wedged and create torque and rotation on the clip. When unusual torque is applied the restraint clip can break and fail.
Never attach to areas that can act as a pinch point which will cause the clip to torque and bend in an unusual fashion and fail.
Additionally, never secure the restraint clip to a moveable portion of the stretcher that articulates away from the patient being restrained (see video). This will cause harm to the patient and again not recommended for patient securement.
VIPER Emergency Medical Restraints have never been tested in a moving vehicle. Refer to your department and or state and local guidelines as to proper application.
